The Montour Preserve offers a wide range of year-round opportunities for free, family-friendly, outdoor activities. It has a variety of fields, forests, and streams as well as features like the sugar shack, fossil pit, boat launch, fishing pier, wildlife observation blinds, visitors’ center/environmental education center, pavilions, children’s play areas, more than seven miles of trails, and more. It is all centered around the Preserve’s signature feature – the 165-acre Lake Chillisquaque. The Montour Preserve offers something for everyone. Enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing, maple sugaring, birding, nature study, photography, fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking, trail running, fossil collecting, and quiet reflection. Ricketts Glen State Park
Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,193 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia counties.
Ricketts Glen harbors the Glens Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark. Hike the Falls Trail System to explore the glens, which boasts a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, each cascading through rock-strewn clefts in this ancient hillside.

Shikellamy State Park

Shikellamy State Park
Located at the confluence of the West and North Branches of the Susquehanna River, Shikellamy State Park encompasses 132 acres that feature a Marina at Lake Augusta, and a scenic river overlook. The Shikellamy complex includes the 82-acre Milton State Park, located along Rt. 15 at West Milton, and the 20-acre Susquehanna State Park. Susquehanna State Park is home of the Hiawatha paddleboat, located at Reach Rd., Williamsport.

The Susquehanna Greenway is a 500-mile corridor of parks, trails, and communities, along the Susquehanna River and within Pennsylvania.
